Workflow Diagnostic
Fee
Custom quote
Fixed scope and fee, agreed in writing before work begins.
- Duration
- Timeline agreed per project
- Best for
- Teams who suspect AI or automation could help but do not want to fund a build to find out.
What the engagement includes
- Two working sessions with the people who run the workflow today
- A step-by-step map of the current process, including handoffs and rework loops
- Volume and time-cost estimates based on your own numbers, not industry averages
- An assessment of which steps are good candidates for automation, which need a human decision, and why
- Data readiness review: where the inputs live, what format they are in, what is missing
- Risk notes covering accuracy, privacy, access control and failure modes
What you receive
- A written diagnostic report (typically 10–20 pages) you keep, whether or not you build with us
- A prioritised build plan with effort ranges and a recommended first slice
- A one-hour walkthrough call, recorded if you want it
What we need from you
- Access to two or three people who do the work daily
- Sample documents, tickets, emails or records — redacted is fine
- A named decision-maker who can answer scope questions within a business day
Not included
- Production software or integrations
- Vendor procurement or license purchasing on your behalf
- Legal, tax, medical or regulatory advice

Prototype Sprint
Fee
Custom quote
The scope, milestones and fixed fee are set out in a written proposal before work begins.
- Duration
- Milestone-based timeline
- Best for
- Founders and operators who need something real in front of users before committing to a full build.
What the engagement includes
- Scope written as a short list of user-visible outcomes, agreed before the first line of code
- A working application deployed to a private URL you control
- Integration with one or two systems you already use (email, spreadsheets, CRM, storage, internal APIs)
- Model selection and evaluation: we test more than one approach and show you the comparison
- An evaluation set drawn from your real cases, so quality is measured rather than asserted
- Weekly demo, weekly written status, and a shared backlog you can see at any time
What you receive
- Source code in your own repository, under your ownership, from day one
- Deployment configuration and a short runbook
- An honest write-up of what works, what does not, and what production would require
What we need from you
- A product owner available for a weekly review and ad-hoc questions
- Test data representative of the real workload
- Sandbox credentials for any system we are asked to integrate
Not included
- Unlimited scope changes — new outcomes are quoted as a change order
- 24/7 operational support (available under an ongoing engagement)
- Compliance certification work

Ongoing Engineering
Fee
Custom quote
Monthly retainer scoped to an agreed capacity. Time-and-materials and fixed-scope project pricing are also available.
- Duration
- Monthly, with terms agreed in writing
- Best for
- Businesses running software that needs to keep improving, or a prototype that earned the right to become a product.
What the engagement includes
- An agreed capacity per month, planned with you at the start of each cycle
- Feature development, refactoring, integration work and bug fixing
- Monitoring, logging and cost control for model usage
- Regression and evaluation runs so quality does not quietly drift as prompts and models change
- Dependency and security updates on a regular cadence
- A written monthly summary of what shipped and what it cost
What you receive
- Continuous delivery into your repository and your environments
- Documented architecture decisions
- A clean exit at any time: code, configuration and documentation stay with you
What we need from you
- A single point of contact for prioritisation
- Access to the environments we are asked to maintain
- Agreement on how urgent issues are raised and what counts as urgent
Not included
- A guaranteed response-time SLA unless one is written into the order form
- On-site work
- Staff augmentation under your direct supervision — we work as an independent contractor
[ 04 ]How we build
Ordinary tools, chosen because they are maintainable after we leave.
- Product surface
- Next.js and TypeScript, React, Tailwind CSS, deployed on Vercel or your cloud
- Services & data
- Node.js or Python services, Postgres, object storage, queues where they earn their place
- AI layer
- Commercial model APIs, retrieval over your own content, structured output, evaluation harnesses
- Operations
- Version control and CI you already use, environment separation, logging, cost and usage tracking
[ 05 ]Boundaries
What we will not do.
- 01We do not promise a specific accuracy percentage before we have measured your data.
- 02We do not build systems that make final decisions about credit, employment, healthcare, or legal outcomes without a qualified human reviewer in the process.
- 03We do not scrape sources whose terms forbid it, and we do not resell data we were given access to for a project.
- 04We do not sell headcount. Engagements are scoped as outcomes, delivered by an independent contractor.
- 05We do not take work we cannot staff properly. If the timeline or domain is wrong for us, we will say so at the intro call.
Language models are probabilistic. Any figure we give for quality comes from an evaluation set built out of your own cases, and we report it with the failure cases attached. We do not guarantee model output will be correct, and we design systems so that being wrong is caught rather than shipped.
Not sure which one you need?
Most teams start with the diagnostic. Describe the workflow in an email and we will tell you which engagement fits, or that none of them does.
